Social exclusion could be classified as a form of psychological bullying. Deliberately isolating people or excluding them from group activities can be a particularly hurtful means of bullying an individual. It is normal for people to want to participate in group activities and to feel a sense of belonging. This is particularly so for young people who will not have the self-confidence to say to themselves that they would be better off keeping away from individuals who wish to bully them.
Another aspect of excluding people is that it can also be one of the most challenging forms of bullying for people in authority to deal with successfully.
